State ESAs

Abstract

Under the North American model of wildlife management, states take the lead on managing many species. Whether states have the laws and regulations needed to protect imperiled species is a question open to debate. Here, we provide quick and easy access to data on state Endangered Species Acts from an analysis conducted at the University of California - Irvine. Select protections from two dozen categories to see how your state–and every state–stacks up.
