As the Conservation Innovation Fellow in the Center for Conservation Innovation at Defenders, Dana develops web applications and data science tools to support wildlife conservation initiatives. Dana collaborates with scientists and data analysts to translate complex geospatial data into user-friendly applications, advancing Defenders’ mission to protect wildlife across North America.
Before joining Defenders, Dana worked as a GIS Technician for the City of Hyattsville, Maryland, where he supported the municipality’s spatial data management. He holds a master’s degree in Geospatial Information Science from the University of Maryland, with a focus on hydrological modeling and habitat suitability analysis. Dana enjoys cooking, reading, and hiking.
