Science is a cornerstone of informed decision-making and is critical to helping us ensure the conservation of wildlife and their habitat. New technologies can help us create innovative and efficient approaches for informing and engaging the public and improving conservation outcomes. Rather than lock it behind closed doors, Defenders develops and promotes open science and technologies that expand everyone’s ability to conserve wildlife and habitat. We lead the development and application of cutting-edge research and spatial analyses, and software for more informed wildlife conservation decision making.

Defenders’ open data makes these resources available through a CC-BY 4.0 license in most cases, occasionally with non-commercial use clauses too, so please feel free to use the data and simply credit Defenders of Wildlife.
