As the Landscape GIS Analyst in the Center for Conservation Innovation at Defenders, Rob provides mapping and geospatial analysis services throughout Defenders to support conservation of wildlife and landscapes across North America.
Before joining Defenders, Rob conducted research assessing the projected impacts of climate change on plant communities in western Wyoming and potential implications on the timing of forage availability for local ungulates. His experience is also comprised of global biodiversity mapping, beekeeping, penguin husbandry, and research on the social behavior of acorn woodpeckers. Rob became particularly interested in conservation work while working on the coast of Massachusetts protecting piping plovers and least terns. In his free time, Rob enjoys birding, playing chess, and going to concerts.
