Refined Range Mapping Workshop
Refined Range Mapping Workshop
There is limited publicly available information on the ranges of too many species listed under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA), which means fewer opportunities to plan for and protect their habitats. A broad coalition of partners from non-profits to businesses has been working to advance the science of species range maps to help government agencies better implement the ESA. On 28 March 2019, the Center for Conservation Innovation convened an all-day workshop to identify outstanding challenges and opportunities for refined range mapping. We anticipate additional workshops, including those to inform federal agencies of our findings, in the coming months.
