Conservation at the Intersection of Science, Technology, and Policy

Abstract

The Center for Conservation Innovation was established in Defenders of Wildlife in early 2017 in recognition of the need to have a team focused on science, technology, and policy to advance conservation. We were born out of the Endangered Species Conservation Department, and continue today to work extensively on the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Our team consists of researchers from diverse fields, all motivated to find new and creative ways to protect wildlife. I will provide an overview of our work in several domains, illustrating the connections between research, development, and policy for conservation.
