Abstract

It is no secret that tackling the climate crisis requires all hands on deck, including a rapid transition to renewable energy. However, without careful planning, building more wind turbines, solar arrays, and other energy projects can damage ecosystems and displace wildlife which is why Defenders of Wildlife and The Nature Conservancy advocate for low-impact renewable energy siting. Learn more about what “low-impact” really means and how we can expand the use of low-impact solar on Long Island and in other urban places around the nation in our storymap!
